Depression Series: Resilience with Mental Health Advocate Alenis
In this episode of the depression series, Alenis shares her story of resilience, advocacy, and bravery. She started her journey as a young professional studying medicine in Argentina, forced to leave the program when she was diagnosed with an illness that spiraled, leaving her with many more years of chronic illness and the mental health struggles that come along with that. Though through it all, she has found happiness, fulfillment, love, and purpose, reminding us that a depression diagnosis is difficult, it's valid, but it’s something that can be better understood and managed. While everyone's story is different, hearing Alenis' experience reminded us that there can be better days ahead. You are not alone!
McKenna, Sean and Karen talk about how they’ve learned to support each other over the years.
